How to Quickly Rank #1 on Google?
You've fallen into despair because your website sits at position three hundred on Google, and you've finally decided to ask yourself the million-dollar question: how do you quickly rank at the top of Google?
The million-dollar question
Honestly? There's no magic button that shoots you to the top overnight (unless you happen to be Google's owner's nephew). But if you're smart, focused, and ready to play a more aggressive game, you can move faster than most of your competitors. Here's how.
The fastest (and smartest) ways to climb to the top of Google
Fair warning: you'll either break a sweat or say goodbye to a noticeable chunk of cash, because none of this is easy, and whatever's worked for you so far won't cut it this time.
1. Find the weak spots — low-competition, high-purchase-intent keywords
Picture yourself as Floyd Mayweather in the ring — you don't knock anyone out with the first punch. You watch, you analyze, you look for gaps in the defense. Your target is keywords your potential clients are actively searching for, but where the competition is barely breathing.
Use Ahrefs, Semrush, LowFruits, or Ubersuggest to dig up the real gems. Start with long-tail keywords or local searches (for example, "best car mechanic in Rīga") — where your competitors are still asleep, you're already climbing the rankings.

2. Create targeted, high-quality content that knocks out the competition
Google's engineers aren't stupid — their algorithm can tell when someone's just rambling versus when someone's actually delivering value by answering exactly what the user is searching for. One well-written, precise article that answers the user's question can shoot to the top fast, because Google rates it as a real resource, not surface-level filler.
Add visual elements — images, videos, FAQ sections that help explain or go deeper into the topic. And don't forget internal linking — linking to other pages on your site helps Google understand that your content is connected and well-structured, which also raises your authority.
Don't forget: every single asset on your website needs to be SEO optimized! Every image, video, GIF, and file needs an Alt tag describing it. Headings and meta tags on every page need to be top quality too.
3. Target featured snippets and "People Also Ask" sections
Google loves structured, specific content. Write concisely. Use proper heading tags, bullet lists, short answers. Think of it this way: you're not just writing an article, you're competing for the top spot — that little box right at the top of Google search. Answer every possible question in your niche before your target audience has even thought to ask it.
4. Quickly earn authoritative backlinks
Without backlinks, you're a soldier without armor — no protection, no power!
And yes — if you have to, pay for links, but do it smartly, naturally, and without black magic, so you don't get hit with a penalty or lose your reputation!
5. Optimize speed, mobile, and user experience
Google wants pages that are as fast as a Ferrari — check your page speed with PageSpeed Insights, cut the dead weight, and make your navigation simple and intuitive. And don't forget — internal linking is like road signs for your content. Without them, a visitor is like a lost tour bus in the desert.

6. Build topic clusters
Google values authority. Don't be a jack-of-all-trades, be the expert in one topic. Build a topic cluster (5–10 articles around one core theme) and interlink them with each other. Kind of like what I'm doing right here: don't want to struggle with building a website yourself? Leave it to Westtro! Did you notice how I just wove a link to another page right into this article, raising that page's authority? This whole setup is like a digital fortress that Google starts treating as a trusted resource.
7. Piggyback on existing authority
Just starting out? Then play it crafty. Publish content on Medium, LinkedIn, Substack or use an old, authoritative domain. Pull traffic in from Reddit, Quora or niche forums — these sites often sit on Google's first page already, and you can ride on top of them like a digital judo master.
A turbo boost, if the budget allows
